Love! Love! Love!
I had single-driver Westone’s back in the early 2000s. I moved to 2 drivers. Then 3. And now, the Mach 40s. They keep getting better and better. They are a nice fit. They look good. They sound even better. The double low-end driver really makes a difference when I am playing bass guitar. They are not boomy and loose, like consumer wireless buds. They are tight and flat. The response is incredibly accurate for monitoring on stage. The foam tips are perfect for little to no stage/room noise. The silicone tips allow for some outside noise. They are also great for everyday listening from your phone or computer. There is no need for noise-canceling headphones on a plane with these monitors. They do the trick there as well. The Pelican case is great. I bought a Pelican for my others, but this set comes with it. All my Westones have been fantastic. Buy them, and then tell your friends to get some, too.

Just Got these. Used them once. We’ll see in a year
Just got these Mach 40s. I am using for live stage monitoring in a church setting. When I first put them on and listened, I was a bit underwhelmed at the overall sound. Quite flat. BUT……….
I run them from a sub mixer next to my keyboard setup. I used the mixer’s EQ settings to beef up the mid-highs. When I did that, It transformed them into something quite incredible sounding. I can hear sounds now in music that I have never been able to hear before. Quite impressive. Of course it probably doesn’t help that I’m old and my hearing isn’t what it used to be. (But I digress)
Im looking forward to using these with the worship team. I’ll see how they perform over the next year or so and perhaps revamping my review. But for now, they seem dandy indeed.

Mach 40 – Exceeded All Expectations!
I’m using the Mach 40 with my iPhone 15 Pro Max and a Questyle M15i for Apple Music HiRes and Spotify Premium. These earphones absolutely blew me away from the very first listen.
The sound is incredibly clean and detailed. I can finally hear vocals distinctly separate from the music, and individual instruments and drums play harmoniously without turning into a muddy mess. I’ve been searching for this kind of sound for years, and the Mach 40 has not only met but truly exceeded my expectations. It’s a rare bullseye in the audio world.

Mach 40 initial
Arrived promptly. Used today for the first time, they sounded great. Cord is a big upgrade from the Mach 30, much more substantial. Happy so far, now the question is durability…
