ES60 Earphones

In stock

The Westone Audio ES60 is the ultimate custom in-ear monitor, handcrafted with six balanced armature drivers in each earphone and a multistage crossover design that yields unrivaled sonic purity.

The ES60 represents the culmination of everything we’ve learned about in-ear monitor technology since we brought our first custom monitors to market in 1996. Designed for the professional musician or music enthusiast, the Westone Audio proprietary flex-canal gives the user the most comfortable in-ear monitor on the market today.

  • Westone Audio Custom-Fit Technology
Fully custom earpieces are cast, sculpted, and polished by hand from actual impressions of your ears, resulting in the best fit and acoustic seal possible.

  • Balanced Armature
Westone Audio’s balanced armature driver is significantly more compact and efficient than a traditional dynamic driver. Westone Audio monitors provide enhanced sonic detail and frequency range that extends well beyond typical in-ear solutions.

  • Flex Canal
A body temperature-reactive, semisoft earpiece canal additive that stays firm at room temperature for ease of insertion and then softens at body temperature, allowing increased comfort and acoustic seal for incredible noise isolation.

  • Cold Pour Acrylic
Earpiece housings are cold-poured in acrylic for a thicker, more resilient acoustic enclosure. Expect increased durability, a more controlled response, and a lustrous appearance from this Westone Audio technology.

  • Dual Bore
With Westone Audio’s Dual Bore technology, high and low frequency sound components are channeled through separate passages in the sound port and sum within your ear canal instead of the earpiece. The result is audibly more natural and provides a more convincing transition between frequency ranges.

  • EPIC Replaceable Cable
Westone Audio’s robust EPIC cable is constructed of bifurcated, high-flex, ultra-low resistance tinsel wire, reinforced with a special aramid fiber, and braided for ultimate durability, acoustic transparency, and isolation from mechanical cable noise. The MMCX Audio™ connector makes this solution conveniently user replaceable.

  • Handcrafted in the USA
Meticulously built by a staff of dedicated artisans and lab techs, Westone Audio’s USA products exhibit a level of craftsmanship that truly embodies America’s rich history of handmade artistry.

Review and Rating

The E60's still sound great, but I'm disappointed in the extreme discoloration of the plastic. Anything clear looks yellow.... yuck!

Warranty has now expired, so nothing that can be done there. Wish this was covered by warranty since it's not particularly normal wear and tear.

In a world mainly populated by more convenient earphones like AirPods and other True Wireless models, these really bring out the value in having a few pairs of ‘phones. A sub-$200 pair of wireless earphones is the price to pay for something to enjoy YouTube videos and Netflix sitcoms with, and they have their excellent merits. There’s a time for phone calls or a walk in the park - these are not that.

The ES60 is a model that serve a place in the hearts of many key influencers in the community of audiophiles. They are treated as a dirty secret amongst several reviewers and product developers in the industry. For folks that have the luxury of trying and using many pairs of in-ear and over-ear headphones, the Westone ES60 has a permanent place in the music-lovers go-bag.

Two years later, a tad yellow in the soft/pliable area that inserts deep in the ear canal, the ES60 still mostly looks good. The cable that was originally white has now oxidized and turned a bit green. The monitor vault that they come in is phenomenally protective, functional, albeit quite a bit bulky. However, if you use the above to grade a pair of $1200+ ear monitors, look away.

Brilliant, there’s no better word to describe the ES60. The same soft/pliable area of the monitor that I referred to getting yellow is a completely under-marketed innovation in comfort and sound quality in the industry. With a little bit of body heat, it becomes pliable and perfectly conforms to the ever-adjusting human ear canal. It’s slightly textured surface then temporarily bonds to your inner ear to become so well sealed that without music playing you may believe you’ve gone deaf. Noise cancelling headphones? Eat dirt.

Sound? If you come from a world of mass-market headphones you may at first be confused. Do these sound good? Is there enough bass? What about crisp highs? The sound signature of the ES60 re-calibrates your senses to understanding why in blind testing over a duration of time, a sound signature like this is always preferred over an arguably more bassy, exciting headphone. Overpowering bass is great for the first 5 minutes, but eventually gets annoying and boomy, often blending multiple bass-heavy instruments into one sound. Exciting earphones are similarly revealing for a few moments until they begin to fatigue the ear and the listener attached to it. No, the nirvana achieved by this sound signature will have you nodding your head and turning up the volume during climactic passages of your entire playlist library. Your ears won’t hurt, you’ll clearly discern instruments, and a drum kit will sound splashy or tight depending on the actual recording. Don’t expect any color, bloat, or fatigue with the ES60; twist in and enjoy what may be the best sounding in ear monitors you’ll come across.

There’s a reason classics get more airtime than anything else. Like the ES60, they just never get old.

I love my in ears: they sound amazing and fit perfect.
My small issue after 1 year is that there is a slight discoloration on the ear tips and the cable is intermittently cutting out. Support said I have a 2 year warranty; let's see how that goes!

Otherwise, I completely recommend them.

I was skeptical dropping $1200+ on my E60's. When I received them and tried them for the first time I was completely blown away. The Sound is amazing; Clear throughout the entire range of lows mids and highs.

I've used Shure E5's and then the Shur 535 for years, then I went for broke! ES60... tons of lows, clean highs, I love them! Worth every penny... I just ordered the REV33 to go along with them! Can't wait!
